I trust this email finds you well. As someone who care about the success of small tradesman businesses, I wanted to share some info on how you can effectively market your services without breaking the bank.

Low-Cost Marketing Strategies for Tradesman Businesses

In today's competitive market, standing out and marketing are important. Here are a few low cost ways to help more people see your business:

1. Use Local Online Platforms: Look at free or low-cost online platforms where people search for services. This could include local business directories, community forums, or even social media groups. For example search Google for business directories and list your business there. If your suburb has a WhatsApp group mention your business on there when someone needs a service you provide. Ask your customers to recommend you on their suburb's WhatsApp group...but you can only do this if you provide good service and are professional. I'm on 2 different suburb groups and people are always asking for a tradesman for something.

2. Set up a Google My Business Profile. Make sure you have all your details. Simply type 'Google business profile' in Google and you'll find out how to do this.

3. Do Social Media Marketing: Social media can be powerful if you use it properly. Share your projects, engage with your audience, and don't hesitate to ask satisfied customers for reviews that you can showcase. Don't worry if you don't use social media. Then use email simply by asking each customer for their email address and sending regular emails. How to send emails is a whole other topic. If you'd like us to write about that in a future email let us know. Actually the results from email have showed to be better than any other type of marketing.

4. Partnerships: Forge partnerships with local businesses that fit in with what you do. For example, working with a home improvement store could lead to referrals for both of you. Maybe chat with a hardware and offer discount to their customers. Ask the hardware if they can give discount to your customers.

5. Word-of-Mouth Campaigns: Ask happy customers to spread the word. Customer testimonials can work wonders. You could even offer your customer a discount on their next job if they give a referral.

Marketing doesn't have to be expensive to be effective. If you follow the ideas above you can make a big impact on how many people see and hear about your business. Also keep in mind that marketing isn't something you should only do when you have free time. People normally say they don't have time. But how can you not have time to find customers. The whole point of your business is to service customers who will pay you. That means marketing is one of the most important things you can do. So spend time on it and after time the rewards will come.
